Still not doing too well health-wise, though Mondays are usually a bit useless (medication side effects). Hopefully things will improve as the week goes on.

The writing was coming easily today, up to a point. That point was when the physical plane decided to get involved. Specifically, my joints started to flare up (for no apparent reason, except perhaps being tired). Had to have a break to wait for painkillers to kick in, and by the time they were working, the headspace was no longer optimal. I did manage about about 500 words, but they were nowhere near as good as the first few thousand.

Yes, you read that right – 4,000 words today. Not quite sure how that happened. Not that I’m complaining, mind.

I went back and reworked the beginning. Added to it, to be precise. There was a scene that I had been referring to that just worked so much better as the opening.

Had an epiphany while walking and listening to music today. I probably looked like a right idiot, since I was wandering along grinning like a fool. But I know where the tension is going to come from in this book. I get to torture my poor characters some more. Is it bad that I like that?

I wanted to write more today, but this damn flesh had other ideas. Despite being fuelled by caffeine, it demanded an afternoon nap. God, I feel like a grandmother on some days.

Though I did go out this morning and wander about in the heat, so I shouldn’t be too surprised.

I’m getting the feel of my characters again. Daemon, like Shaede, is written from the point of view of Sycamore. I’m almost certain that the final book will be from her point of view again.

My muse has been speaking to me again today. I know what the central theme of this book is going to be now. Which is good, since yesterday I had precious little else other than a subplot and a title. I love it when ideas come together, colliding to form a new thing.

New project: Daemon, sequel to Shaede.

Borderline has now become Daemon, which is essentially the merging of two different ideas I had. I’ve got an itch to make this a trilogy. I even have the name for the final book, and the vague idea of a plotline for that one.

I wanted to write more words today, but Mondays are difficult – I clean the house on Mondays, so spoons are used up there, plus it’s the day of worst side effects from one of my medications. So I’m glad to have the word count I have – though it’s very clunky for a beginning, it’s still a beginning.
