I’m getting into a portion of the manuscript that’s tighter and not so padded out with crap and rambling, which is much nicer to work with.

It’s making me worry still a bit about the earlier chapters, particularly about whether my viewpoint character is boring in them. I suspect that I’ll need a few people to reread it and see what they think.

Today’s progress:

Project: Shaede draft four
New words: 3,546
Total word count: 15,875
Goal: 100,000 words (or thereabouts)

Writing: Five chapter down. I’m getting interested in the story myself, even though I know what’s coming, which has to be a good sign. Foreshadowing is kind of fun.

Real life: No exercise today, though I did do some cleaning of the house, including lugging around the vacuum cleaner. Also some baking and a load of laundry. It’s been storming on and off all day, so no chance to get out of the house.

Final inspection on the new house today. All is well, apart from one minor thing that will be fixed. The current owners have moved out already, so all will be full steam ahead at the end of the week to start moving!

Yes, I changed the website again. I wanted a three column layout, and I decided that I wanted to use this photo that I took while down at Margaret River. I’ll probably still be fiddling with the layout and adding stuff for a while. It gets addictive.
